Set In 1964, considering the death of his wife, Ip Man discovers he has throat cancer due to smoking. After his lawless son Ip Ching fights back up adjacent to a bully, he gets expelled, and Ip decides to travel to San Francisco, associated States to see for a school. Due to a tip-off by a student of Lee, the connection is left empty by the grow old the immigration officers court case the place. Lee provides refuge for the Association, earning their respect. Wan is seriously insulted from the fight considering Geddes. Ip, filled considering emotions, finally reveals to his son that he has cancer, which finally allows him to talk to his daddy higher than the phone after many attempts by Ip. Ip is brought into the Marines' camp by Hartman, and defeats Geddes in a fight. Wan has already prepared the letter for Ip, but the latter said that he does not objective to imitate to San Francisco as he does not considering the place. Ip reconciles considering his son. A strong but tired Ip instructs his son to film him as he demonstrates Wing Chun upon the wooden dummy. Ip succumbs to his cancer, and it is revealed in the epilogue that the Marines had officially incorporated Chinese martial arts into their routine in 2001.
